A confluence of things has come about and the phrase that keeps running through my heart is "cry the fair country".
Dolorous & Distressing Contemplations
The first started long ago with diminishing of respect for authority in the guise of teachers. Where when discipline was made by the schools the immediate parental response was "Not my little angel!" Regrettably the schools on occasion may have been in the wrong. But many times they were not yet now they hesitate to place any restraint on these "little angels".
Next in line was the fiction that those who had been the victims of racism could not in turn harbor racist views. To the point where we have a leader of an organization say on camera after taking over a news conference that was to try and provide information saying "I don't have problems with Hamas but I have a problem with 'white people'. The criticism of this has been nil.
Shortly after this something that had been developed to help our military to overcome their innate hesitation to take another human life in combat situations made it into popular computer gaming. Yet many will deny the conditioning that occurs to the every day person from playing these games, even in the face of children going out and trying to either emulate or impress the 'hero' in these games. In many of these games it is the authority figure that is the villain yet now a popular game has come out with a new edition where the mischaracterization has bled over onto a group who disagrees with the current 'common knowledge'. But is this criticized, no not so much. In point of fact it is 'eagerly' anticipated.
Then there is the group that has been a trusted source for information from which to develope ideas and opinions. This group has drifted to the sensational, prurient and tailoring things to suit a philosophical narrative of 'how things work'. When the information that is given on which we are to be informed is at best only partial and at worst falacious many jump to conclusions that are not only detrimental to community and property, but also has lead to loss of one of the most precious gifts we've been given, life. Now comes out that the recent furor over a 'little angel' being killed might not be as was bruited.
Yet again the self-centered in order to gain the attention they've been taught is their due throw tantrums because things did not go the way they pictured as right. Yet again they create situations to bring focus on themselves or where or what they deem most important for the moment. Do they try to understand another's point of view, not so that it is noted by any involved who endure the tirades and mockery for merely differing in thought.
You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow,
the cup of ruin and desolation,
the cup of your sister Samaria.
~ Ezek 23:33
